At
NHS ONLINE, our prime objective is to support NHS employees and to provide a sounding board for your views and concerns.
Sometimes healthcare workers, having a first hand view, may see certain healthcare practices, procedures or incidents within the NHS as falling below the expected standard. Whether they are concerns about patient care or more generalised matters, the avenues available to healthcare workers to express their unease and voice their sentiments are limited, risky, and fraught with mistrust.
We feel that such a situation is detrimental to both patients and NHS workers, who may feel threatened and intimidated by a bureaucracy anxious to silence dissent. Legitimate concerns may be answered with undeserved retribution.
It is with this in mind that we at
NHS ONLINE have set up a totally confidential and anonymous system for NHS workers to be able to voice their concerns with a clear conscience. As we are totally independent of the NHS and government bodies, we are well placed to investigate claims and if necessary raise the alarm about sub-standard practices without resorting to the usual avenues of red tape which may lead to unwanted disclosure.
If there are practices within your workplace that warrant investigation or change, feel free to write to us about them. We guarantee complete anonymity and you do not need to leave a name or other identifying factors about yourself. Your comments will not be published on the website.
It is our hope that with the new openness and confidence that this new system will bring, we can help the NHS become a better place for both patients and workers.
